Earlier this year, Dacia car manufacturer, part of Group Renault, started taking pre-orders for its first Electric Vehicle. In October we say the first Dacia Springs running on the streets.

The Romanian model has a single 44hp ( 33kwh ) electric motor and a 27.4 kWh Li-Ion Battery. With this setup, it has a range of 143 miles ( 230km), on the combined WLTP cycle.

The full price of the vehicle is $22.000, but with subsidies from european states it can go as low as $11.000, which is a great price for an electric vehicle.

With this autonomy ( 143 miles ), the car is suited mostly for in-city driving, but on the highway the autonomy will be much lower, but at this price, you can’t expect to get a Tesla Model S.

Given the low expectations, the feedback that the first buyers gave is satisfying, they acknowledge that at this price, it is a decent electric vehicle.

You can get more details on the official Dacia Spring page.
